Anywhere but Here is a general interest podcast that has been described as “A real yorkie podcast” by ‘A Random Listener’ we aren’t really sure what that means, but it sounds good.

Tom is joined by Ande Case today to talk about Ande's new sci-fi podcast series, Monsoon Jackson. He gives a great account on the making of the series as well as imparting the inspirational message that to do things you've just got to get on with it.

Tangents abound including the mistrust of tech and how rubbish the human race is at averting disasters, both personally and on a global scale. Also, an awful Christmas advert is critiqued as well as PETA's strange attempt to change the way people turn a phrase.

After finishing recording they realised that they hadn't covered the basics, such as where Ande's inspiration comes from. So, even though Tom mentions that there won't be an After The Podcast Podcast this time, there actually is. Make sure you subscribe to be a Patreon so you can listen to this chat about all things sci-fi.

Enjoy!

Episode 232 - Deal or No Deal

00:0000:00

On this episode of the Anywhere But Here Podcast Ant and Tom talk about the aftermath of the Dicerollers gig they went to in the last episode which includes a car that moved on its own, passive-aggressive notes and massive kebabs. No further recording happened, as you may have guessed if you're a Patreon.

Halfway through the episode breaking Brexit news happened where the EU actually accepted Teresa May's deal,  but the debate now is if UK Parliament accepts it, which looks unlikely.

There's also some debate over the validity of the new Lion King film and whether it's really 'live action' if there are no real actors or sets. Also, what's the point of doing a shot-for-shot remake of it in CG if the original exists?

All this and much more on this episode of Anywhere But Here. Enjoy!

The guys took a road trip to Kingston Upon Thames in southwest London to surprise Greg and Joe from The All Seeing Guys podcast performing as Dicerollers.

This episode was recorded in the car as we made our way to the venue, The Fighting Cocks, and features typically English conversations about the weather and other drivers. We also delve into Making a Murderer, Netflix's Marvel shows and work. Donald Trump and Brexit may also make a rare appearance.

This episode of the Anywhere But Here Podcast is Halloween focused. Ant and Tom share stories of creepy goings on involving a seance, a haunted child's room, a group of children talking to their dead friend, a man being mistaken for a scarecrow and the Green Man visiting a camper in the night.

The guys also go through a list of the most haunted places in Kent, a couple of which they've been to.

By all means get in touch with your stories of creepy goings on that you have witnessed or famous ghost stories from your area.

This episode of the Anywhere But Here podcast sees Ant and Tom tackle the thorny issue of male privilege and whether or not it is a scary time to be a man. This also leads on to a chat around whether or not you're being a 'white knight' or just a nice human being if you hold doors open for people or offer to pick them up/escort them home from a night out.

Somehow the guys then get on to Strictly Come Dancing and the Great British Bake Off, chatting about work and holiday time as well as other TV shows they're watching and films they've seen recently.

Tom 'lightens the mood' by describing the latest archaeological findings from the deaths of people who perished during the eruption of Vesuvius in 79CE which involves flash boiling of bodily fluids and steam pressure on the skull.

This episode of the Anywhere But Here Podcast was recorded last week and as such does not contain ant 'time specific' content. What is covered is the response to our Patreon game 'Five Clicks to Christ', which went down really well, and the return of one Robbie Polanco.

Ant has been learning restraint techniques at his new job which are both scary and interesting and Tom has been through a strange week including hire cars, crap builders, robots, slides and a wedding.

Also, a massive congratulations to Adam from the Attaboy Clarence and Secret Histories of Hollywood podcasts on his latest, amazing news!

All this and much much more.

Enjoy!

This episode of the Anywhere But Here podcast covers quite a bit of ground starting with a celebration of the life of Barry Chuckle (Elliott), one-half of the Chuckle Brothers, at the age of 73. He and his brother Paul entertained millions, including Ant and Tom with their slapstick routines for decades.

Sir Patrick Stewart is reprising his role as Captain Jean Luc Picard in a new Star Trek TV series and the guys debate this for a while before spilling out into discussions of books adapted for TV and movies and where deviation works and doesn't.

The President of Venezuela has been attacked by drones carrying explosives... or has he, as we record conspiracy theories are growing including a local terror group claiming they did it through to the fire department saying that it was a gas tank in an apartment block, not a drone attack at all.

Some small news stories piqued our interest including a man complaining that his hedge lady keeps getting attacked by horny drunks, a man steals a shark from an aquarium and VR Mario Kart is coming to London!

All this an much more on the episode of Anywhere But Here.

Enjoy!
