Anywhere but Here is a general interest podcast that has been described as “A real yorkie podcast” by ‘A Random Listener’ we aren’t really sure what that means, but it sounds good.

Episodes

The guys didn't record this week due to a number of circumstances so, with End Game coming up they decided to release the Captain Marvel Spoliercast that they recorded recently.

Sorry for the delay in getting this one out, although I guess that's only relevant if you usually listen on the day of release.

Enjoy!

Ant's back in the Pod Pod for this episode of the Anywhere But Here Podcast with Tom. Most of the episode focuses on Brexit, but (hopefully) in an entertaining way, such as what has been done in history that's taken longer than the Brexit process so far.

Other topics discussed include the passing of music icon Keith Flint, the Michael Jackson and Madeline McCann documentaries and exploitation in general. We also congratulate Greg and Joe on reaching the 100th episode of The All Seeing Guys Podcast.

Ant is away this time so Jo boldly volunteered to take his place.

As is the way with these things Tom and JO decided to take a look at the legend surrounding St Patrick and whether there really are no snakes in Ireland and Jo brings a new twist to the Ides of March and how they could spell the end for a current leader of a certain country... or will they?

Tom rips off the brilliant Off The Beat And Track podcast for the majority of the show though where we get to find out what songs have soundtracked Jo's and Tom's lives.

In the last couple of weeks the Momo Challenge has reached ridiculous levels of attention, but is this a good thing?

Trump manages to use the least presidential language yet in a two-hour rant at a Democratic Conference.

Space X's Dragon capsule has been launched to dock with the International Space Station but Elon Musk is worried that the shape of it will endanger it on re-entry... something that should surely have been thought of at the design stage?

A study has found that Mr Greedy by Roger Hargreaves is almost as complex as Of Mice And Men by John Steinbeck. And we agree.

And is a slap 30% less bad than death?

All this and much more on this episode of the Anywhere But Here Podcast.

Dan and Jim from Roundhouse are in the pod this episode to talk about their new album 'Don't Be A Dickhead', which you should all go and buy right now.

As always, the conversation spins out into all manner of topics from board games to inappropriate songs sung by buskers.

But, the meat of the episode is more about the songwriting and the art and alchemy of crafting songs.

As always, it's an absolute please to have the boys on.

Enjoy!

Episode 236 - Space Balls

Prince Phillip managed to knock Brexit off the top of the news agenda this week as the 97 year old royal was involved in a pretty scary looking car crash. This lead Ant and Tom to have a bit of a discussion about Brexit, but also about conspiracy theories like does JK Rowling exist?

The conversation switches to films they have seen and what's coming up in the cinema including The Favourite, Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse, Mary, Queen of Scots, Spider-Man: Far From Home and Alita Battle Angel.

The episode finishes with a traditional Anywhere But Here ending as Tom brings up the launch of a Japanese satellite that's only function is to create artificial meteor showers. This begs the question, why?

Happy New Year! It's 2019, and what could be more traditional than to start the new year by looking back over the last five years of the Anywhere But Here podcast?

Both of us have come a long way from being two ex-bandmates working jobs we didn't enjoy, yearning to be happier and doing something creative again. Since then the support and friendship we've received from other respective other halves, listeners, other podcasters and creative people we've met and befriended has really helped us to recognise where we could improve and have helped us to achieve.

It's also been really inspiring to see where our contempories have got to such as Scott from the Stinking Pause who seems to produce more and more content, and Adam from Attaboy Clarence and Secret Histories of Hollywood podcasts who recently had a show on BBC Radio 4 Extra!

It's been a wonderful half decade. Here's to many more years of recording and meeting some of the most inspiring people. Here's to you.

Enjoy!

Episode 234 - Unaccuracy

This episode of the Anywhere But Here Podcast sees Ant and Tom reunite and immediately fall to pieces with the accuracy of the stories they tell. It's probably the least accurate episode ever recorded! From confusing the Buzzcocks with The Undertones to who first recorded Tainted Love to how businesses can make money selling their stuff for free.

All this idiocy and so much more for you to enjoy on this, our last episode of the year and the last one before Christmas. Happy Christmas, guys! Enjoy!

Tom is joined by Ande Case today to talk about Ande's new sci-fi podcast series, Monsoon Jackson. He gives a great account on the making of the series as well as imparting the inspirational message that to do things you've just got to get on with it.

Tangents abound including the mistrust of tech and how rubbish the human race is at averting disasters, both personally and on a global scale. Also, an awful Christmas advert is critiqued as well as PETA's strange attempt to change the way people turn a phrase.

After finishing recording they realised that they hadn't covered the basics, such as where Ande's inspiration comes from. So, even though Tom mentions that there won't be an After The Podcast Podcast this time, there actually is. Make sure you subscribe to be a Patreon so you can listen to this chat about all things sci-fi.

Enjoy!
