Anywhere but Here is a general interest podcast that has been described as “A real yorkie podcast” by ‘A Random Listener’ we aren’t really sure what that means, but it sounds good.

Episodes

Ant and Tom are back for the first time since the beginning of the year and have a lot to discuss, especially the viewing they've done over the holiday period.

Tom has played his first gig in 2022 but was at the end of a particularly bad day and was made worse by the organisation of it regarding safety.

Ant received his diagnosis of ADHD and we discuss what the future might look like for him.

Finally, we get on to the shambles that is the UK government who, seemingly can't avoid a party, or a gathering, or a work meeting with booze and cheese, and what the possible repercussions should be. Let us know what you think should happen to them in the comments.

Enjoy!

Tom is back for a spoilercast on the latest Sony/Marvel film, Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

As usual, this is a spoilercast and as such I will be spoiling various elements of the films plot, characters and cameos. So, if you want to see the film without knowing anything about it and haven't yet got round to it , go and watch it first - preferably at the cinema - then come back.

If you don't care either way and are interested in finding out about what happens in the film, listen on and enjoy!

Episode 308 - Hi Eric

The guys are back for the second consecutive episode.

This time they talk music, mostly, and revisit the notion that old Slowhand himself, Eric Clapton, just might not be such a great person. Does singing to ghosts relieve them of trauma experienced in life and how do a few beeps represent a standing ovation?

Enjoy!

Ant and Tom are back together on an episode for the first time in a couple of months. So, as you, would expect, there's a lot to catch up on including Ant's possible ADHD diagnosis, Tom's gigging with Sham 69, the various films and TV shows they've been watching and how their own band is shaping up. Also discussed on this episode is the alarming rate at which older musicians they both look up to are turning a bit conservative and right-wing in their old age and why that might be the case - we're looking at you Eric Clapton, Van Morrision, John Lydon and Steven Morrissey!

On this episode, Ant... yes, that Ant, is joined by Andrew. They discuss many things including movies, work, making loved ones cry, on purpose, but generally treat the episode as an excuse to chat and shoot the breeze.

It's been a while, so Tom decided to rope in Jo to do a spoilercast for the Netflix series that's in the centre of the zeitgeist right now, Squid Game.

Obviously, as this is a spoilercast, you should know that we're going to give asway a lot of the plot elements and surprises throughout all nine episodes. So, if you don't want it spoiled, simply don't listen. Go and watch it first and then come back to listen.

However, if you don't mind hearing some of the details of the show, then press play and enjoy the ride. Enjoy!

On this episode of the Anywhere But Here Podcast Ant and Tom sing the praises of Emma Raducanu, the first British female tennis player to win a gran slam tennis final in decades. Her win at the US Open yesterday evening was especially sweet because of the hounding she received from figures like Piers Morgan and John McEnroe after pulling out of Wimbledon this year due to having a panic attack.

Ant and Tom also went to a music all-dayer at which Tom also played. They talk about the mixture of excitement and anxiety of being surrounded by so many people in a music venue for the first time and the old bands they enjoyed watching as well as some 'new' bands they discovered.

Also, Ant has finished the first year of his course and Tom has become the bassist in Sham 69, you'll have to become a Patreon support to hear the rest of that conversation, so make sure you sign up!
